One thing we absolutely love about being a local Main Street business in a small town, is this….we have the perfect platform to lift up other small businesses through our own. Our beautiful store is a lovely backdrop to showcase the work of local makers in our area. In the last month, we’ve added the handcrafted work of folks not only in the larger local area, but those very close to home, even right off Main Street, to our retail space.

The following are a few of the locally made items that are worth the visit to experience in person.

Buttnaked Candles

These perfect little candle pots turn into a luxurious soy based hand and body lotion as they burn. They are easy on sensitive skin and come in ten different fragrances, including a signature fragrance, Amazing Flowers, made just for us. These candles are made just up the road in Vestavia.

Brady’s Natural Sugar Scrubs and Goats Milk Soap Scrub

We asked Brady’s Natural to create a soap and scrub collection for our gardening loving customers and they knocked it out of the park. The Lemon Verbena and Blooming Jasmine fragrances are light and clean and perfect for anyone.

Living Art and Wire Vines by Taylor Owens

Artist Taylor Owens creates amazing “plantscapes” from found items, and handcrafts stunning plant vessels that create a secret garden atmosphere in any home or garden space. You really have to see her work to appreciate it so be sure to come put your eyes on her work in person. The best part is she lives right down the street from our store and is part of our community.

Terrariums by Carlos Hernandez

Our literal neighbor, Carlos, has been creating small ethereal ecosystems for the fun of it for years, and we talked him into letting us share them with our customers. His terrariums are beautiful and full of wonder. You’ll find that when it comes to gifts, they are the kind that will stand out because of their unique nature.

Floral Art by Whimmmsy

Just a little north of us in Birmingham, artist September Reed creates intricate mandala art that will blow your mind. Her paintings are full of color and texture and detail that you’ll find mesmerizing. She has also created lovely coloring books that are perfect to use when you need to sit back and relax and get lost in a little whimmmsy.

Pottery by Stephanie Campbell

Wilsonville potter, Stephanie Campbell, has been throwing flower pots for us this last year, but has recently added tiny lanterns for fall, and tiny pumpkins and gourds to decorate your plantings with. Her beautiful earthy colors and perfectly sized pots can be found both planted and in open stock. There are even a few ghoulish items to snatch up before Halloween!

True Vine Gifts Jewelry and Home Décor

True Vine Gifts creates from found items like wine corks, old hymnals, and vintage game pieces. These items are full of nostalgia and make unique gifts that you can’t find anywhere else. When you remember playing Scrabble with grandma, or singing hymns with your aunt, or that special wine shared with a friend, think of looking here. You might find just the right item to commemorate something special.

We’re excited, and feel so lucky to have all of these items for the holidays and hope you’ll check us out this season for those “just perfect” gifts that tell your loved ones that you put a little extra effort into your gifting this year, but also puts you in the position to support local makers and artists. We encourage you to shop early to get the best choices, or possibly even place special orders, which some of our artists have the ability to do.

Stop by in the coming weeks and find something AMAZING!
